Campus Computer Standards

Supported means that IT staff will install, maintain, and attach this equipment to the campus network. IT is an authorized repair center for both Apple and HP computers. There is no charge for support labor as long as the equipment meets campus standards. There will be no charge for support parts for up to two (2) years beyond the purchased warranty as long as the cost is not more than half the price of a replacement computer or printer and the repair is not from accidental user damage.

Quotes for all campus computers, printers, and monitors must be provided by IT.

When a computer or printer outside of the campus support standard breaks, it must be replaced not repaired. Quotes can be requested by contacting the Help Desk at (920) 424-3020 or


For new computer purchases:

For existing computers:

Apple Desktop or Laptop
  • Make sure the computer is certified to run the version of Linux utilized
  • Verfiy the video card is certified to work with the installed version of Linux
Windows Desktop
  • Two (2) years beyond the original warranty
  • HP dc8200 or above
Windows Laptop
  • Two (2) years beyond the original warranty
  • Minimum 802.11 wireless adapter

Mobile Devices:

  • iOS and Android OS devices can be configured to access email
  • Tech support beyond general troubleshooting and email connection must come from the vendor


  • Preferred minimum of 19″ LED
  • HP monitors generally come with a three (3) year warranty standard
  • Tech support does not include repair of monitors – replacement is at department’s cost
  • Recommendations for new monitors


  • HP LaserJet 4000 and above supported as long as parts are available
